Rosie- try these!

Nut butter cookies

>Cream together 1/2 cup of maple syrup, 1/2 cup of nut butter and 1 tsp vanilla extract.
> Stir in 1 cup of wholewheat self raising flour and mix well.
> Form into 24 walnut size balls, place on lightly oiled trays and flatten with fork tines in two directions to make a cross-hatch design.
>Bake on two trays, one at a time in the centre of a pre-heated oven at 180C/ gas 4 for about 12 mins. Allow to cool completely on a cooling rack.

These are awesome- simple for littlies to make alone and not too sweet. You can use any nut butter, almond, peanut, brazil or hazel are all good. Wasn't so keen on walnut.
Enjoy!

hey, brilliant! so simple! thanks. I will need to get some maple syrup, though. We made 2 lots of cookies today- one the children made, with buter, sugar and flour, and then I tried the peanut butter cookie recipe below. They were nice, and rose a lot, but a bit too sweet. I used more flour than it says.Yours sound a bit more wholesome.
