Anniversary starter.


Red Lentil Pate with Tarragon. Posted by Hello

Still eating here, just not much blogging going on!

This was very yummy, made by Sim.

  • Bring to the boil 4 cups of water and add 1 cup of lentils, 1 onion and 2 bay leaves.
  • Reduce heat to medium high and cook for about 10 mins unitl tender.
  • Mince 5 cloves of garlic.
  • Drain the lentils, discard the bay leaf and place in a blender with the minced garlic.
  • Add 1/4 cup of fresh squeezed lemon juice, 3 tbsp olive oil, 2 tsp dried tarragon, 1/2 tsp salt and a few grinds of pepper. Blend well,
  • Transfer to ramekins or serving dish and refrigerate for about an hour.

For such simple ingredients this was lush- especially if you like homous.

This sounds good. I must try it- I've been thinking of trying something like this but couldnt imagine it being very nice. Now I can. Happy anniversary! you lucky thing. No, correction: I just dont have a husband who cooks, well, hardly ever- can cook, can't be bothered/too busy to cook. o well, his loss!
